Ngorongoro
Crater Lodge overlooks one of
Africa's most
dazzling sights. Five hundred metres below lies "Africa's Eden",
the most concentrated area of game in the world where some thirty
thousand wild animals roam a basin just nineteen kilometres across.
A member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, the Crater Lodge is
lavish beyond belief. Vaulted Maasai style huts furnished with four
poster beds, shot-silk curtains and chandeliers, suites with devoted
personal butlers
Maji
Moto Camp - Located on the remote southwestern
shores of Lake Manyara , Maji Moto is the only camp in the
small but incredibly diverse Lake Manyara National Park .
The lake - tinged pink with countless flamingoes - is incredibly beautiful against a backdrop of the plunging walls of the
Great African Rift Valley, grassy floodplains and ancient
forests. The park, made famous by elephant experts Iain
and Oria Douglas Hamilton, is excellent for viewing elephant, tree-Climbing lion and impressive buffalo while the birdlife
is exceptional, being one of the world's greatest raptor havens.
Grumeti
River Camp Overlooking a tributary of
the river and right in the path of the great migration, it offers
fabulous game viewing year round as well as close up views of resident
hippo and some of the largest crocodile in the world.
Ten fantastic suites with thatched canopies, en-suite bathrooms and
expansive terraces are decorated with wildly original and funky
color schemes; gigantic beds are adorned with crown shaped headboards
whilst rustic sculptured furnishings are fashioned from local timber.
There is a plunge pool for lazy moments and gourmet food is served
under the stars or in private for special occasions.
Kleins Camp is set in a 25,000 acre private
concession leased from the Maasai. Established in 1926, the camp
harks back to safaris of old with ten luxurious stone and thatch
cottages furnished with polished wooden floors and classic interiors
reminiscent of the plantation era. The atmosphere may be old fashioned,
but the modern amenities include powerful hot showers, double basins
and natural cotton dressing gowns in every en-suite bathroom.
